The Craziest Morning
The Craziest Morning
So I awoke one morning to a phone call, my boss was on the other line. I remember him saying, “Hey man where are you? Do you know what time it is?” The only thought in my head was, “damn, I over-slept.” Sure enough I was right; I was in fact over thirty minutes late for work. I couldn’t believe it! As I began to apologize for being so late my boss interrupts me and says, “Just be here within the next thirty minutes if you want to keep your job!” Knowing how serious he was about that statement, I franticly rushed to get ready for work! On my way out of the house I grabbed my water jug and keys and then headed for the door. As I got to the drive way I noticed my car was not where I had last parked it. Two thoughts ran through my head; it had either gotten stolen, or my roommates had moved it to the garage. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst I ran back up to the house and checked the garage. I was left speechless.
Seeing that my car was not in the garage, I instantly dialed 911. It felt like the phone had been ringing for over a minute before I was finally connected to a dispatcher. By this time my adrenaline had kicked in. I was furious! After explaining to the dispatcher what had happened, she began to ask the basics: “What color is the car? What is the year and make of the car? Is there anything that distinguishes it from other vehicles?” I told her it was a green 1999 Volkswagen Jetta GL with a blue bumper. She took all of my information and the police quickly began the search for my car. Knowing that there was no way I was going make it to work, I called my boss. I just knew he was going to be pissed! As I feared for the loss of my job, I tell him that my car had been stolen and that there was no way I was going to be able to make it. There was a long pause. Then, with an irritated voice he said, “Are you serious?” I then replied, “As a heart attack!” Not knowing if I still had a job I asked if I was going to be fired.

On Mondays, we usually had a rush of customers, rushing to get a hot cup of coffee for the road to work, or just morning moms wanting our new brew of coffee for the week. But Tenesha had inventory that week, so I was stuck making coffee all day till Andrew, another employee came in around 1 p.m.…

I glance at it and see my wife’s picture on the screen. She never calls me at this time, so I immediately answer. I hear two different cries on the other side of the line. “I need you to take a deep breath and tell me what’s going on. Are you guys okay?” My heart sank to the pit of my stomach. “Maddy’s toe is falling off! I need you to meet me at the emergency room! We’re on our way there now!” my wife sobbed. “I need you to calm down. Is she okay? I’ll meet you guys there.” I responded. I hung up the phone. My girls needed me. My little girl is in pain and all I can hear was her crying out for me in the background. I grabbed my keys and ran out the door. I called another manager to come in on my way to the hospital, but I couldn’t wait for them to get there. I had to get to the hospital. Bad days can happen to anyone of us. There are days where nothing goes our way or days when you wake up in the morning with a really bad mood. Despite that, we still have to wake up, get out of bed and face the day. When I am having a bad day, I will ensure that no decisions are made throughout the day regardless of the matter's urgency because I believe that a wise decision is made based on clear emotions as well as logic. When facing a bad day, there are a few things I would do to turn my bad day around. After getting up in the morning, I would lock myself up in my own apartment, away from all the disturbance and noises that could possibly worsen my day. I will tune in to some of my favourite classical piano songs while reflecting on the problems that I am facing and find ways or solutions to solve the problem. After a while, I would take a short nap approximately 30 to 60 minutes to unwind myself. After the nap, I would take my bike and ride it to the gym to work out. I will spend roughly one and a half hour at the gym. By doing so, I believe this will help me de-stress and release my tension. After working out at the gym, I will then go to the nearest A&W to have a glass of root beer and a plate of waffle. After having my root beer and waffle, later on, I will ride back home to my apartment to take a warm and relaxing bath. Then I would call up home to inform my mother that I would be going over to the house for dinner. I will spend the rest of the evenings with my parents and my little siblings by dining and watching television together. Later in the night, I will bring both my parents and little siblings out to the nearest Mcdonalds to have some ice cream for desserts. We will have some family bonding time by laughing and joking with one another. After spending the whole evening with my family, afterwards, I will drive back to my house and upon arrival I would browse through the internet for some encouraging and motivational quotes online.…
