Another major factor that contributes to mob mentality is distribution of responsibility. People start to lose their individual values and principles and start to gain the mob’s values. They also believe that they can not be held accountable for their actions in a group because “everyone did it.” Most people would not engage in some of the actions that the mob does when they are alone.
