It’s like lying. If our school took away call of the wild, it would be like taking away something we once possessed and getting rid of it, even if we were doing nothing wrong. In the book “Call Of The Wild”, the dogs do fight and kill each other. There is also gambling, drinking, and death. Although some people may find this book not suitable for teenagers, it does go along with a lot of school curriculums. Some of these might include perspectives and humans versus nature. Another example is in the article about banning “Invisible Man”. One of the members of the school board talks about how his son is in the air force and is “‘fighting for those freedoms that I’m here passing a vote to take away’”. This man is realizing that the readers of banned books had rights that the school took away, and that’s exactly what I am getting at here. That is a right that students have, and they have been taken away too many times without even the slightest consideration on the student’s behalf. Someone opposing my views may say that it is important to ban certain books because parents won’t like what they are reading, but even if that’s the case, you shouldn’t ban all kids from reading that book, just the ones who’s parents don’t approve, give them an alternate assignment. Speaking of parents, they may have views that could hurt a school
