Murder is the crime society wants to prevent the most, it should use the highest form of punishment to defend families of victims and this is the death penalty. If more murders were executed by use of the death penalty then potential murders would think twice before committing the crime because of the fear of losing their life. For years, criminologists analyzed murder rates to visually perceive if they fluctuated with the likelihood of convicted murderers being executed, but the results were inconclusive. But in 1973 Isaac Ehrlich employed an incipient kind of study, the study found that for every inmate executed there were 7 lives that were spared because other would be malefactors were deterred from committing the malefaction. If some studies are inconclusive it's because the death penalty is infrequently utilized and even when it is the process takes years to determinately be set in place and executed. The fact that some states have lower malefaction rates and do not utilize the death penalty is not because they have some other remotely deterrent or that they are more halcyon because they do not utilize it, is mendacious.
