If you are on the voter’s list, you will receive a card in the mail a few weeks before the election indicating when and where to vote. Once you have received this card, it will outline the instructions on when to vote and how to apply for advance polling if you are unable to make it to the designated polling day. If you believe you should be on the voter’s list but do not receive a card, you should contact your municipality. On the day of polling, you must bring 1 piece of identification that shows your name, signature and address with you. When you arrive, you will receive specific instructions on how to check off the ballot and where to put it afterwards. If you have a disability or are in need of assistance, you will be provided with an interpreter or other accommodation. If you are unable to leave your home, or for some other reason cannot make it to the polls, some municipalities offer mail-in voting. For this you will have to request a mail-in ballot beforehand. You will then receive the ballot in the mail, fill it in, place it back in its envelope, and then mail it back to the return address.
