The Eid at The Mosque

With the excitement that kept me awake all night long and the overwhelming feelings of joy,

delight, and happiness I started preparing my self for one of the happiest days in every Muslim life.

our self for the trip to the mosque.

seems to be breathtaking the sunrise, the smell of early morning, even the streets was decorated with

festival lights. At last we arrived at the mosque, I rushed out of the car to the women section so I can

meet my friends. As we enter door we are welcomed with a beautiful smells of incense, perfumes, and

a group of three women greeting with salution with “Eid mubarak”--”blessing Eid”. Through out the

screaming running children, the laughs of the girls, and the voices of the women's chatters I tried to

find a familiar faces. When the voices the speakers arises, we started to arrange our self’s in long rows.

“As worshipers hurried to their places Friday, the prayers got under way, everyone

kneeling in the direction of Mecca, the spiritual home of Islam. Almost everyone in the hall bowed in

unison, expressing humility and devotion, as the imam intoned the prayers. Children not old enough to

appreciate the significance of the event scampered through the building while toddlers cried for

The priest, deacon, two people who gave the readings, and four alter servers gathered in the narthex. The choir sang an entrance hymn and they processed into the church and up to the alter. At the end of the service, they assembled at the foot of the alter and processed out of the church with the congregation following. It seemed to flow naturally with the servers leading and carrying the cross standard and candles. The two readers followed carrying the book with the readings. The two ministers were last in line. They greeted people sitting near the aisles, especially the children.…

The next part of the Service was more solemn as it was preparing for Holy Communion. This is where the Minister breaks the bread and gives the wine, representing the Body and Blood of Christ. I then went up to the sanctuary where I received a Blessing on my forehead from the Minister. Those that have been confirmed took the bread and wine. After the closing hymn, the Minister gave some notices and then dismissed us with the Blessing “Go in Peace to Love & Serve the Lord”. Our response, “In the name of Christ, Amen”.…

    Prophet Mohammad's Manner

All praise be to Allah alone, and may His peace and blessings be upon His messenger and bondsman our Prophet Mohammed, his family and his companions. The objective of this concise pamphlet is to explain how prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform his prayers. I would like to present this explanation to every male and female Muslim so that they may strive to take up the Prophet's manner in performing their prayers as a model for them. It was narrated by A1 Bukhari that Prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be on him) had said: "Perform your prayers in the same manner you had seen me doing." Therefore, here is the explanation for the Prophet's manner of prayer: 1. To perform completely the ablution, adopting the method commanded by Allah in the Quran: "O ye who believe, when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces and your hands (and arms) to the elbows, rub your heads(with water) and (wash) your feet to the ankles."(S:6) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: "Prayer without ablution is invalid." 2. To turn one's face and whole body towards the Ka'aba, The Holy House at Makkah, intending by heart to perform the prayer which he wants to fulfill, whether it is an obligatory prayer or a supererogatory prayer, the worshipper in all cases, should not pronounce his intention openly, because neither the Prophet nor his companions used to utter the intention for prayer. Thus, pronouncing the intention for prayer in audible voice is a heresy and an illicit action. Whether the individual be an Imam or performs his prayer individually, he should make (A Sutra) i.e. a curtain for his prayer.…
