Genocide is the deliberate extermination of a large group of people belonging to a different race or religion . Bosnia was an independent country that struggled for Bosnian Territorial Soverignity . Bosnia became seperated into different religious groups, the Serbians, the Croatians and the Bosniaks . The Serbians tried killing off the Croats and Bosniaks which led them to conform to the eight major stages that all genocides clearly adhere to .
In april 1992 , Bosnia was recognized as an independent country by the European community and the United States . The country was ruled by the communist dictator Tito , he was later killed in 1980. after the death of the death of the dictator it began to fall. Many civilians began to get bombed . The Bosnian genocide took place in the middle east in the country of Yugoslavia in 1992-1995. The Serbians felt threatened the Croatians and the Bosniaks. The first goal of the Serbs was to wipe out the educated , the intellectuals , the wealthy , and any other non Serbs who actively opposed their rule . The Serbs considered the area of the city strategically important and attempted to conquer it .
As the classification began to occur after the country was separated in 1991 when Croatia , Slovenia , and Bosnia declared independence , Serbs were against all Bosnian Muslims .They called it ethnic cleansing , the believed it would make the country stronger and bring peace . Bosnians were being categorized , tendency grew bitter and sees others not the same race or religion differently .* Serbians who were led by Slobodan Milosevic conveyed the discrimination the
