Five Pillars of Islam Islam and along with Christianity, Judaism is that they are all monotheistic which are based of one true God. The muslims have a book called the Qur’an the Qur’an is very similar to the Bible, they both tell stories that have a deeper meaning. The Tanakh is the book of Judaism and it closely resembles the Christians old testament Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are said to be Abrahamic religions. This means that they all worship the god of Abraham. Because they all have different languages they call God by different names. Each of the regions require the followers to follow a special moral code of laws. In Christianity Jesus is believed by all to be the messiah and son of God but in Islam he is believed only to be a prophet. Also in Judaism he is believed not to be the son of God or the messiah. By carrying out these activities it give muslims a way to tie their religion into everyday activities and show a great amount religious devotion.
The Five Pillars are Shahadah - Sincerely reciting the Muslim profession of faith. The first part of their payer begins with “There is no true god but God,”This means that no one or nothing has the power to be worshiped over God.
Salat - performing ritual prayers in the proper way five times each day. The prayers do not take more than a few minutes and are prayed at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and night. While praying a person maye feel inner peace, and comfort that God is pleased with them. Muslims may pray mostly anywhere.
Zakat - paying an alms or charity tax to benefit the poor and the needy. All things belong to God but out of trust he lets us use his stuff. A person has to give at least 2.5% of the money earned in a lunar year to
