The Giver wishes to advise them more often because there are things that The Giver wishes he can change about the Community. The Committee does not want to seek advice from the Giver because every time they call him, he advises them for additional affairs that he wasn’t inquired for. This response of the giver worried the elders because they desire to have control so when the giver was advising them of affairs that they didn’t inquire. They felt the Giver was depriving them of their control consequently they didn’t want to seek advice from the Giver.
15. The Community needs a Receiver to preserve all the memories of the past. The memories are important for preventing previous mistakes. If there were no Receivers, the memories will be released into the community and then people will repeat the mistakes from the past, which could have negative effects on the community.
