The Giver Memories
“If you were to be lost in the river, Jonas, your memories would not be lost on you. Memories are forever.” This quote means that the memories will never be lost and if he leaves the community that the memories will all go back to the people This is significant because the people haven’t had the memories for many generations. This quote pertains to the story because it shows how important and useful the memories are because they will never go away or end with one person. In the end of “The Giver” I believe that Jonas and Gabriel died because why is there a random sled at the top of the hill? Another reason I think he didn’t survive is he said that he felt close to elsewhere but how does he know where elsewhere is if he has no memories of where elsewhere is and even The Giver doesn’t know where to find elsewhere. Once again he could be hallucinating and could be miles away from where he is supposed to go. He also says he starts to feel warm and I don’t think you should start to feel warm when you are in the middle of a snowstorm. He also said that joyful memories started to come back to him which he thinks means he crossed the boundary or whatever but it could mean his life is flashing before his

After the release of Friedan’s novel, there was an overwhelming response from the readers. Many responded with utter happiness, claiming that Feminine Mystique had changed their lives, while many responded negatively. Friedan’s success led her to co-fund the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1966, to work towards increasing women’s rights. By being a part of this organization she influenced the change “outdated laws that were disadvantageous to women, such as sex-segregated help-wanted ads and hiring practices, unequal pay, and firing a woman who was pregnant instead of providing her with maternity leave” (NWHM). The Agricultural Revolution was constituted of the three-year rotation of crops, use of new crops, drainage, and the enclosure of fields which was crucial to European history because it helped people plant more crops, prevent soil exhaustion, gain more land, and led to even more farming advancements for mainly the Netherlands and England. The Agricultural Revolution consisted of the three-year rotation of crops which allowed peasant farmers to plant wheat or rye the first year, oat or beans the second year, and then have one year of fallow in contrast to the old two-year system which allowed farmers to plant crops for one year and then have one year of fallow the next year. This significantly increased the supply of crops in the Agricultural…
