To be able to truly experience and appreciate life's pleasant emotions, it is necessary to experience the unpleasant emotions as well. The extremes of emotions are what make the good feelings feel so good, in contrast to the low feelings. You would not really be able to understand and appreciate love and enjoy unless you have also experienced the lows of pain and sorrow. Another feeling that people experience is pain. A person's emotions can go from love and joy to pain and sorrow. Empathy toward our fellow human beings makes a person compassionate and understanding toward other people’s tragedies. This allows us to be able to become more connected with other people and give a sense of community. For example, in this book, some citizens in the community are able to watch releasing ceremonies. When they are seeing the release process, they have no feeling at all. Although they are unaware of what release truly is, they still know that this person will never return, and they still do not feel any sadness or other

The role emotions play in humans lives is significant because it gives meaning to our life experiences. Positive emotions can give people more confidence while also boosting their self esteem and giving them a more positive outlook on life. On the other hand, negative emotions can be painful or lead to bad decision making, but they can help one grow as a person. However, both positive and negative emotions can influence human’s thoughts and actions, giving us motivation to persist toward some kind of goal. This goal can be something big and inspiring such as climbing up the social ladder like McCourt or something that everyone can relate to such as combating negative emotions the way Frankenstein’s monster or Shelley did. Humans can share their emotions through the words they say, the actions they take, or the things they create such as literary works or works of art. The poems, novels, movie, and song discussed were created by people with different cultural backgrounds and through their work, it is possible to see some of the differences between western and eastern culture. Even so, they share something in common which is the portrayal of emotions and its role in human lives. No matter where emotions might lead us to in the future, no one can deny the fact that emotions are an irreplaceable part of us that make humans…

The Giver movie and the Giver novel were very different. This is most likely because the Giver book was released in 1993 and the movie was made in 2014. First, the movie depicts the characters to look like they are eighteen or nineteen, in the book they are only twelve. Also, in the movie Jonas begins to see beyond like in the book, except he sees yellow, unlike in the book where he sees red. In addition to that, a more important difference would be that in the move Ashers´ job is drone pilot and he plays a much bigger role. In the novel, he is the director of recreation and he doesn't do anything important. Finally, in the movie, Fiona almost gets released because she helped Jonas leave. In the novel, Jonas does not receive help from Fiona…
