Chapter One Of The Archaeological Chronicle: A Particular Catch

“Hmm… That didn’t go quite as I had planned,” The Deity thought out loud, something they would have never dared to do in the company of others. Thankfully though, they were only in the company of themselves. It appeared that they had accidentally transported themselves to an uninhabited island in the middle of the ocean… but perhaps it wasn’t that isolated after all; they surveyed the surrounding landscape and saw a mass of land straight in front of them, less than a hundred meters away from the place where they were standing right then, and a town on it.
They teleported and found themselves at the border of a town, although village would be a more fitting term. Getting scared by a woman asking them for the time, he quickly looked around: There was a long main road with two narrow streets branching off to the left and right. There was a man selling different items, but the passing people seemed uninterested in buying anything from him. “My kind sir,” he started, giving them a polite smile, which did nothing but somehow intimidate The Deity. “How would you like a beautiful necklace, maybe for that special someone *Wink* *Wink* *Nudge* *Nudge* for the low price of a thousand banifalși? Don’t mind the smell of fish, that’s simply because

Seriously, have you seen the things they try to climb?). They then took it while the stall owner was occupied selling some silver, and they came close to fainting when she glanced at them. The feeling of guilt (truth be told, it was less the being sorry, and more being extremely scared) was nearly too much to handle, and they were going to drop the chain, when it suddenly wore off, after the woman had left her stand, and pretty much everyone else had departed to either their homes or the town

Mexican-American families for the most part, are very close to each other. Either to extended or immediate family, or individual members with another member. We can see in “The Rain God” how Miguel Chico has a close relationship with Mama Chona and also with his aunt Maria; even though Mama Chona and Maria practice two different religions. In the first chapter of “Encountering God” the author Diana Eck starts by explaining that the book is her experiences in encountering different religions. “All of us have rivers deep within us, bearing the waters of joining streams.” I loved this starting quote it feels like she is open to any view. She knows that different beliefs are a good thing, and that we all have to experience different people because we need to be mixed together for us to grow and form our own views. Throughout the rest of the chapter she is telling us all about Bozeman, Montana. The memories she had from the town and the descriptions she made where vivid. What was a small frontier like town when she was a girl is now a busy city.…

The History of God A History of God: The 4,000 Year Quest of Judaism, Christianity and Islam tells the story of, as the title might suggest, how the idea of God was created and how it has been altered by religious groups and people throughout history. The author, Karen Armstrong, does this by starting with the first Jews and their belief in pagan gods, and going as far as questioning wether God has a place in modern society at all. Mrs. Armstrong was a part of a devout Roman Catholic family, but often she found that hell seemed a more potent reality than God and that had created fear in her and left her with little confidence in her religion.…

Chapter one in “Money, Greed, and God”, talks about how many people, throughout history, have tried to create the perfect society for their people, yet they have failed horribly. In many occasions communism sounds promising. but it has its great disadvantages. The Russians tried it, and failed as well as the Chinese. One thing that shocked me, was that the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts attempted something similar to Communism by working the communal farmland as a whole.…
