How do you interact with others? Are you accepted into a prestigious group? Or are you singled out? In these stories there have been many different personalities & groups they are all accepted indifferent ways
In these excerpts”American flag stands for tolerance,Texas V Johnson majority rule and What of the goldfish do you wish? All three have examples of acceptance that lay a very big role in the story,each story has very different characters.A character in each has been accepted in some form ,people who are different from one another that have accepted each other. In the excerpt What of the goldfish do you wish? Sergei is a lonely old man that lives on the outskirts of town. He has one friend that happens to be a magical talking goldfish.his best friend.”He wanted to take you from me” says Sergei “no , he was only there to make a little something for t.v” the fish says(lines 116-117).Sergai thinks the boy is trying to take his fish away from him. While sergei thinks highly of the fish the fish does not feel the same way. “You do have one wish left” the fish reminds sergai(lines 128-129).The fish wants sergai to make his last wish so he can be free. While sergai has accepted the talking magical fish in his life ,there is another character in the story that has been denied
He is saying that his actions will not negatively affect our country. Johnson’s actions have been accepted with perfunctory. As supreme court does not like his actions there is nothing they can do about
