I never realized how much I relied on my team to push myself and to become a better cheerleader for them. That is something I have the utmost gratitude for. Although I rely on them a great amount, this same support must be reciprocated from me. For example, if I diminish my job, then nothing can be accomplished. We all ultimately depend on each other for guidance, wisdom, and trust. This experience of being in an outstanding program like Dulles Cheer, is one of the most valuable memories that I will forever have so much gratitude for. Once I go out into the “real-world”, I will be expected to connect with people from so many different walks of life. I want to someday become a doctor, so with that being said, there is no “I” in team in any doctor’s office while cohesively performing some of the most tedious, life-saving operations. The program gave me the informational tools I needed to figure out what I am best at. I exuded leadership qualities, the willingness to always want to help someone, and determination for not only myself, but for another human being. I explored different avenues to approach when working with someone else. No one person shares the same moral values and goals as the next person. Over the years, it became exceedingly more important to me that I figured out how to blend my flamboyant personality with someone who may share this same characteristic. Always being around teenage girls who are growing into women and going through so many physical and emotional changes has taught me to deal with it multiple different characters that girls alone possess. There are so many positive things about teamwork, but one often fails to highlight the negatives. Human beings are all different, emotionally, physically, psychologically, and many more. They often clash with the slightest disagreement. Being a part of the Dulles Cheer program this is something I am very familiar with.
