In the film he falls in love with Gwendolyn and his best friend Algernon knows about his false identities. The many stages of his character really show my example of how we all struggle with reality, he chooses to be Jack in the country with his close family but once he is in the city everyone knows him as Earnest. Everyone in the story struggles with their own reality, I believe that love is the cause of the struggle. Throughout the story everyone lies, whether it be about where they were or who they are. There were cars in the movie, but not in the play. Gwendolyn also got a tattoo for Earnest, which is a shocker for most people. The film is really good and brilliant. It has an important meaning, even though they were all related in some way. By showing the plot and emotions in the film, it gives people an idea of the journey they all went through. I think that every character is special in their own way. In closing, the film The Importance of Being Earnest is a powerful message to people. In examining Johns reaction at the end, it is apparent that once can always make their own path and story to be remembered by. We can choose our own future if we find a way to become ourselves.
