The Importance Of Gun Control In Schools

“Where you have the most armed citizens in America, you have the lowest violent crime rate. Where you have the worst gun control, you have the highest crime rate.” -Ted Nugent. One of the biggest political issues today is gun control. There have been so many shootings in the streets, in schools, in federal buildings, colleges, and movie theaters. There are many theories on gun control from both conservative and liberal sides; I believe the answer in somewhere in the middle. In 1791 the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified to include the Bill of Rights, a Bill of Rights that included the Right to Bear Arms. This right gave all Americans the right the protect themselves. In recent years this right has been abused by many. However the constitutional right can not be taken away from all which, means the solution has to be made with amendments. However, in order to make gun control more effective there must be exceptions.

Americans have the right be bear arms to protect themselves. If someone imposes danger on a family member or an individual the right to bear arms is important. For example, if a father is home when an intruder enters the home he bears the rights to defend his family and his property against imminent danger.
Since 2013 there have been over 200 schools shootings in America. That is nearly one per week. While we continue to train our students, teachers, and faculty on how to react to school intruders the solution may very well be in allowing the right to bear arms in schools. Every day we trust our faculty and staff to protect our children until we reunite with them in the evening. Yet the statistics show that one school per week falls victim to an act violence. When is it considered a necessity to bear arms to protect our children. I believe the time has
