After various shootings in schools and colleges, gun control laws have been a debate all over the country and all over the news. However, many state legislatures have already decided to obligate colleges and universities to allow “concealed carry”. If teachers were armed, it would help bring down the risk of school shootings. During a school shooting, seconds matter. When the police are contacted, it could take up to 15 minutes or more before they arrive. In all that time students and teachers are getting killed. Teachers want to carry guns to be able to prevent this. They feel that they should be armed to protect students. Kasey Hansen, on New York Daily News, said, “I think every teacher should carry a gun. W are the first line of defense. Someone is going to call the cops and they are going to be informed, but how long is it going to take for them to get to the school? And in that time how many students are going to be affected by the gunman roaming the halls?” Because of the many school shootings in the past, teachers feel they should be armed to decrease the risk of this happening and to protect students if it…
