The Importance Of Making Shots In Basketball
They say when you are making shots in basketball, you are a "hot" shooter. So it's no surprise that with about three and a half minutes remaining in the game between the Fort Wayne Mastodons and North Dakota State Bison, the fire alarm finally sounded.

The Mastodons and Bison were both shooting over 50% on their three-point attempts, with the 'Dons having a 80-77 lead after trailing by double-figures late in the first half and being down by seven at halftime.

Unfortunately, after a nine-minute stoppage in play, while alarms sounded and pre-recorded messages to fans to vacate the arena (which very few actually did), the only team to be "hot" was NDSU.

The Bison used a 12-3 run once play resumed to carry them to a 89-83 win.

A regulation shot clock would make the game more enjoyable for fans and closer to the professional or collegiate game, along with the fact that several states have already petitioned for use of a shot clock. The shot clock would help modern day high caliber high school players prepare for college or professional basketball. Players in the new “shot clock…

I would like to first describe the arena and atmosphere being presented. From the picture there is a lot of haze in the distance and it really appears underneath the lights. Thus, meaning that it was very hot and humid in the arena. Also, I notice the glaze of sweat appearing on each player also, meaning it was a very humid atmosphere in the arena on that historical night. From all the haze and the heat, it explains that it was shoulder to shoulder in the crowd, as the spectators watched the final shot of the season. The heat and humidity shows the importance of the game in college basketball, being the national championship. The significance of this proves that this game was a very intense, on the edge of your seat game, from all the fans producing a lot of body heat. This is what produces the haze underneath the lights, showing the importance of the game to all the viewers.…

A basketball is an air filled sphere with a leather skin. There are different companies that make basketballs like Russel & Baden. The different types of shapes affect the aerodynamics of a basketball. Although at first it may sound strange, the motion of a basketball when it leaves the hands of a player is governed by the same physical laws of an airplane. There are multiple ways to affect the aerodynamics of the ball like the flick of the wrist, force and the quickness of the release when you shoot. The texture of a basketball as well as the weight can play on the aerodynamics of the basketball and can affect the rotation speed.…
