The Importance Of Non-Profit Organizations

Make a Wish Non-Profit organizations play a large role in the American society. They are designed to serve the public and help in many ways. A nonprofit is supposed to use its revenue to benefit the public. Many of these organizations are educational, scientific, charitable, or religious. Some popular nonprofits that are well known today are universities, hospitals, and some organizations, such as, The Make a Wish Foundation. Some nonprofits, such as, hospitals and universities, have salaries and bonuses. Other nonprofits like foodbanks have salaries as well but they are much smaller figures than those in hospitals or universities. There are four pressures that a nonprofit has weighing down on them. These four pressures are Voluntarism, professionalism, civic activism, and commercialism. Voluntarism is an important aspect of nonprofits. It helps people freely express their values, expressions, religious, and cultural beliefs. People volunteer to help or donate to organizations. Many of these volunteerisms are religiously inspired, but not all of them. Professionalism is gained through knowledge or formal training.
