It is important to keep honoring our veterans because they have sacrificed so much for this country. Also we honor them because we need to tell them how appreciative we are of their dutiful service to our country. Even the president honors our veterans. Each year the president or one of his representatives lays a wreath on The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers in the Arlington Cemetery every Veterans Day to honor those veterans. Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…
How do we keep Lincoln’s Promise? We keep Lincoln's promise just as he said- "malice toward none", "charity for all", and to "care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan". Taking care of our veterans can go a long way. Many veterans go through hard times returning home or even on duty.…
Even though the war was so terrible soldiers continue to fight for the lives lost during the war. Some soldiers were prepared to risk their lives so long as there was a chance of success for them. Most went into the war believing they could make a change. Not just for themselves but for their family and country. Some were forced into going to war and forced to fight for their…
After being contained in prison camps, once veterans were released they couldn't find any source of support. They had difficult times finding jobs and usually lived on the streets. Since they lost the war, the southerners were angry and treated them badly. They were no hero to the South. Some veterans found it easier to self-exile themselves from the nation, going to countries such as Canada and England. The biggest effect on them had to be the fact that the North won, and not them.…
I whole-heartedly believe in respecting everyone. My grandfather replaced the father figure during my adolescent years. James E. Stanley, my grandfather, lives every day demonstrating respect for others and honesty as a citizen and a man of faith. General George Washington explained, “Serving as a Soldier does not mean giving up being an American citizen with…
Why are Veteran’s important? I could create a lengthy list of reasons, but instead let me tell the tale of America’s history; the literal roots of this nation. Long ago, in the year 1776, a man by the name of John Hancock, planted a seed. The seed, a perennial, was to last for countless years to come.…
in this war the gained a lot of respect , showed their courage , and their love for the U.S. It was…
Have you ever wondered why the military and our veterans are important? I mean really thought about it. Yes, they keep us safe, but it’s that and so much more. Without them our country wouldn’t exist and we wouldn’t have the rights that we have now. They fought in past wars, the present wars, and will fight in wars to come.…
We need to count on our veterans, so that means that they need to have respect and will not give up. What do veterans do? Veterans are brave people who fight fight for our freedom. The amazing things about Veterans is that they risk their life for us, they have amazing perseverance. Veterans can’t be Veterans if they are lazy and don’t work hard, that is pretty obvious though.…
There are numerous social problems that plague our world today. These issues can be very detrimental to our society as a whole and can also have very negative impacts on many lives. One major social problem we are facing today is the way we are dealing with and handling our United States Veterans. Despite the fact that we are one of the world’s most powerful nations we are failing to properly take care of our service members who put their lives on the line to ensure our safety and freedom as United States citizens. The issues facing our veterans are substantial and numerous. I will be focusing on the majority of the most outstanding and significant issues facing our veterans…

On our planet Earth we are presumed to be the most intelligent species inhabiting this planet. Humans live their lives one tier above animals as we are sophisticated. We have built a foundation on which enables us to live our lives peacefully and stably unlike animals. None the less, we are still animals and we have certain characteristics and tendencies that resemble those of primitive animals such as fighting. Throughout history human beings have fought for what they believe in. As history progressed we have evolved the way we fight and how we fight and what we fight over. These days the way we humans tend to fight is through wars. We wage wars over our beliefs countless times which led us to build great armies in order to win these wars. These soldiers risk their lives fighting so that we as civilians may live in peace. This formula has been recycled throughout history. One would think that a man who is willing to risks his life for safety of his country should be rewarded greatly for his deeds. Which is sadly not the case, what usually happens is these veterans are forgotten once their service is complete. This formula has also been recycled throughout History. Veteran’s in America do not get the respect that they deserve for what they have done. The unemployment rate regarding veteran’s has been at an all-time high and there seems to be a lack of effort to change this.…
In Lincoln’s view, these soldiers fought and gave their lives to protect the ideas our nation was founded on. They fought for freedom and equality for all.…
As an American, I am thankful that our country has a military that is willing to sacrifice their lives for us to be safe. America is the “Land of the free and the Home of the brave”. Our country and it’s American people have fought long hard wars to get to where we are in time now. Many have unfortunately lost their lives, but they were brave enough to go to other countries to fight for our freedom, rights and our country. The veterans and soldiers who are in other countries have lots of courage, and I want to say Thank You.…
Our country owes a great deal of gratitude to our veterans. The freedom we have today is in a great part thanks to them. Many veterans have given so much; some even gave their lives, to ensure our rights. These rights are taken for granted by most US citizens today. But, hopefully, on days like Veterans’ Day and other major holidays that honor our veterans, Americans take a look around and appreciate all these great soldiers have done to secure our freedom.…
