every living creature on the island. Hence, the reason why Moreau failed was that he failed to understand the idea of Darwinism; nevertheless, he was able to control the beast folk for a while, but the nature of the beast folk could not be controlled since nature's ways are more powerful than Moreau's hypnotism or control against the beast folk. Moreau and Prendick discuss the certain effects that could occur if Moreau's hypnotism wears off against the beast folk. As Prendick questioned the ways of what Moreau did by putting the beast folk in a trance Moreau explained how the power of nature takes effect by uttering, "And they revert. As soon as my hand is taken from them the beast begins to creep back, begins to assert itself again" (Wells, 81). Moreau here explains the point of what would occur if he stopped hypnotizing or trying to change the beast folk. This is what Moreau is explaining to Prendick, and why Moreau is controlling the beast people mindset. In other words, this supports the fact how Moreau failed because of the idea of Darwinism or the power of nature. This supports the idea because the beast folk, even if Moreau tried to alter the beast's nature, the effects would eventually fade. Therefore, this proves how you cannot shift the ways of nature because those creatures will eventually come back to their old ways due to the power of nature. The event occurred how the beast folk eventually started reverting to their animalistic ways and causing chaos on the island. Prendick thought he may have led the beast folk, however, the creatures eventually reverted back to their instinct. Prendick concluded, " While I was doing this I left the boat moored to an inward projection of the reef, for fear of the Beast Monsters" (Wells, 135). Prendick noticed that is was important to note that beast folk will turn back, despite the fact that Moreau's hypnotism worked adequately. Notably, the occurrence of the beast folk's behavior caused Prendick to flee from the island due to the chaos that has been caused by the beast people. This supports the idea that nature is more powerful than man as explained in Darwinism. The idea that even if the beast folk had a humanized behavior, they will still return into their animalistic selves since Prendick had to leave for safety purposes. Due to the fact that Moreau had failed as being killed by the beast folk; thus, it shows how nature is more powerful than man showcasing that the disposition of animals in nature cannot be controlled. Furthermore, Moreau was unsuccessful because Moreau tried tampering other matters that are very powerful in nature: the disposition of creatures mentally and physically. Moreau here explains the traits and natures that we have as people or creatures in general.
Here in this situation, he explains the idea of what it is about to Prendick. Prendick questions Moreau's beliefs of ideas; meanwhile, Moreau interprets his ideas of the things in nature that could be controlled by stating, "Cravings, instincts, desires that harm humanity, a strange hidden reservoir to burst suddenly and inundate the whole being of the creature with anger, hate, or fear " (Wells, 81). While Moreau was discussing with Prendick about the ideas of nature itself, he points out to Prendick things that we feel such as emotions overwhelm us as people. In this case, this supports the idea that nature is power as related to the idea of how certain notions should not be tampered with and how it could cause turmoil to creatures, people, and beings in general. Therefore, nature is powerful in certain notions that you can't dominate. Such as your the instincts or emotions. During this time period, Prendick recalled a thought in his head about how the beast people ended up coming back to barbaric
ways. The power of nature as explained in Darwinism shows how Moreau's failed in altering nature's way of beasts; therefore, Prendick recalled, "How the hair began to spread over the exposed limbs; how their foreheads fell away and their faces projected; how the quasi-human intimacy I had permitted myself with some of them in the first month of my loneliness become a horror to recall "(Wells, 130). It is important to note the fact that Prendick's conclusion of the beast people. How Prendick concluded that the beast folk returned to their animalistic features such as their hair. In this case, It is important to realize, that Prendick's thought that he recalled mentions one of the many characteristics that represent how nature is all-powerful. This goes with the idea of Darwinism and goes with the implication of how Moreau's plans came to an end. All in all, nature is all powerful no matter how you alter or shift anything in the environment. The idea that beast folk was controlled by Moreau palpably and psychologically; thus, created chaos on the island, since the beasts reverted back causing fear, therefore shows how supreme nature is. Moreau's endeavor on the beast folk of experimentation eventually was eradicated because he bypassed to acknowledge the actuality of how nature is preeminent towards the propriety on the beast people, the mentality, and the physiology for all creatures. Thus, It is pertinent to cognizant of the idea that there are certain things that cannot be rendered. As your emotions or character per say that is something that an individual cannot control it is their sense of identity that should not be interfered with.
