Sharon cried out towards Steve but not a sound was heard . The sense of guilt and shame rose up within Sharon, as if a sharp knife was plugged into her heart. As she recall all the wonderful times she had with Steve, a poem called “ The Man Who Finds That His Son Has Become A Thief” by Raymond Souster popped up into her head. She remembered her grandfather’s detailed description of the poem, where the author portrayed the idea of a father realized that his trusted son has stolen from a store . At in the beginning of the poem the father trusted his son and defended him, since he believed his son to be a pure and trustworthy person. Once the evidence was provided to him, he immediately felt embarrassed and guilty, since his precious and beloved son has violet the law. In addition, he made a huge scene and defended against others by simply stated his son to be truthful. Immediately after, he felt ashamed, since the father believes he was held responsible for his son’s action and the thought of his son’s crime seeped into his mind. Sharon stared at this poem by Raymond Souster with a bitter feeling, as the poem portrayed to her personal experience.
