The basic element of the manorial system was the manor which was a self-(producing a lot with very little waste) estate controlled by the lord. The lord enjoyed the land rights and the right to control the poor people through (state of being forced to work for another person).
The lord maintained authority
over both the workers in the land and the land itself to make sure that civil order was maintained. The serious money problems that was (irritated/made worse) by the (dangerous, wild person) wars of the 5th and 6th century, the widespread death from starving and sicknesses saw many laborers give up their land and freedom to work under the protection of the famous and important local lords.
So, the poor people were (promised that something will definitely happen or that something will definitely work as described) protection and access to land in which they could provide money-based service to their master. This was a form of trade-related trade: security for money-based service. This system gave in to the structure of (very old land ownership system) in which kings would give local lords gifts of land in exchange for loyalty and maintenance of local civil order.
