In document 3 and 5 it explains about weapons and battles. In document 3 it says “They wear defensive armor made from buffalo and hides of other beasts, dried by fire, and thus rendered extremely hard and strong” I believe that this armor protected the soldiers during battle; and helped them survive longer if they happened to be injured. Perhaps it would give them more time to be hospitalized, and not die on the spot. In document 5 it says “The men make bows and arrows, manufacture stirrups and bits, fashion saddles, construct the dwelling and the wagons, tend to the horses and mares, churn the comas, produce the skins in which it is stored, and tend and load the camels.” Back in the day, they didn’t have guns or bombs, etc; but Khan was very smart, especially when it came to weapons. He had an increase in technology and would make new fighting/weapon tactics.
In documents 4, 6, and 8 it shows the strong leadership Khan had. Khan has equality between the men for example; in document 4 it explains that “each man toils as much as the next, and no difference is made between them, no attention being paid to wealth or power” I think the key to The Mongols success was the strong leadership, Khan clearly didn’t care if you were wealthy or in poverty. He treated his soldiers equal. This was exceptional in the accomplish of the conquest because the men would feel equal; and not be treated like dirt if they were in poverty. Also, if he had treated the un-wealthy soldiers bad, they could easily betray him. In document 4 it also says “If there is a sudden call for soldiers and order is issued that so many thousands men must present themselves in such and such an hour of that day or day.”
