On Wednesday September 16th of 2015, I will be going to the Smithsonian National Zoo with a group of my friends. The Zoo was founded in 1889. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world. There are 1800 animals that live in the zoo. One of the most famous spots in the zoo for tourists to see is the Giant Panda exhibit. The giant pandas recently just gave birth to baby pandas. I have only been to the Smithsonian National Zoo once. I went in eighth grade for a school wide field trip. I love seeing animals and going to the zoo. Back where I am from (Delaware) there are not any zoos or big public attractions for young kids and teenagers.…
Throughout the years, it has been over looked whether or not the zoo really is a proper environment to keep animals. Are the animals really being cared for or are they being taken against their will? Are the animals in a comfortable environment or are they just another reason to make money? The zoo is an environment where people of all ages can explore and learn more about different species around the globe. It is safe for the visitors and also the animals themselves. The zoo is a productive and successful strategy for protecting endangered species worldwide because they provide animals with proper shelter, proper nutrition and they create fundraisers and charities to help save the animals.…
. LA zoo is fantastic and there are plenty of animals to observe. The employees were friendly and provided educational facts to the public. This is the second time that I visit LA Zoo because I want to observe the activities and behavior of some selected primates. I spent most of the time observing all the animals and learning about them and their native habitats. LA Zoo is laid out by continental area, so the primate exhibits are scattered throughout the zoo. I began with the New World monkey located in the South American section of the zoo. In exhibit area 75, I saw three species of New World monkeys. All of these species have prehensile tails. These species are the black-handed spider monkey, black howler monkey, and crested capuchin monkey.…
For the primate observation project I went to the Santa Barbara zoo to observe and contrast different types of primates. I observed one species of an old world monkey, which was a gorilla and two different species of new world monkeys, which were the Bolivian Grey Titi Monkey and also the Golden Lion Tamerin.…
What does our future hold for us? Will it fulfill our wishes and dreams? Will we have a happy family? Well in order to worry about our future, we have to learn from our past and how we have changed. About 65 million years ago, a meteor hit Earth and primates started to show up and eventually lead to our creation. There are many different kinds of primates that we have studied and learned from. We can go to different places to view and understand their life style. The Fort Worth zoo is one of those places where I went to observe and learn. I got to observe two white-cheeked gibbons and three ring-tailed Lemurs. Apart from their difference they also have some similarities.…
My mother had found a zoo online that was located in our city and decided that it would be fun to check it out. I had my doubts since I had always trusted well-known zoos such as the San Diego Zoo, but in the end I too decided it would be worth looking into. It was Saturday noon, when my mom, dad, and I left for the zoo. When we were halfway there we came upon a bumpy road scattered with rocks. My father told us that it was used in winter to keep the cars from slipping on the icy road. But I could only think of one thing at that moment, the immense headache which the constant bumping on the road brought me. I complained that we should’ve gone to the Humane Society. It was right near the house and there wasn’t a bumpy road we had to cross when…
There are many factors, which determined the behavior in our group of five members that was assigned by our professor. Romeo and Juliet, the dramatic love story everyone knows. Many times the play by William Shakespeare is compared to the movie produced by Baz Luhrman. Most always when movies are compared to the books, the books are better, but not quite in this case. Yes, the play is very good as well as the movie, but the play has its great parts, and its not so great parts as well. Just like the movie, it also has its good parts also many things that are the same in both the movie and play, but of course they have changed and bad parts. There are things from the play when made into the movie. The play and movie are both great but have their strengths and weaknesses.…
It is a beautiful day in Sacramento, California and I am just getting lunch at “Mrs. Castillo’s home for Orphans” while I was eating string cheese and carrots with my best friend Elijah, my other friend Allie ran into the cafeteria and said “Hey! Samara! I have something for you, from Mrs. Castillo! After she was done sprinting, she handed me a note that said “Mrs. Castillo’s office, and I looked at the bottom and I saw something circled… and it said NOW!!! In all capitals. I knew that I did something wrong, I just knew it! I was so nervous I felt like I was going to throw up. As soon as I got up to the door I knocked, and heard her say “Come in my dear.” I walked in the door, and as soon as I got in there she turned around…

Our first Botany field trip to the National Botanical Garden was filled with both captivating views and significant information of plant life. Although I was born and raised on Kaua’i, visiting there was a first time experience for me.
