The two characters fall deeply in love and simply cannot lose one another. The two make sure that nothing can come in between them. Noah, one of the main characters in the novel, is out in the lake on a canoe with Allie another main character. The two are catching up on years that they were not together. As Noah is rowing the canoe, he looks up at Allie and says, “I didn’t plan on falling in love with you, and I doubt if you planned on falling in love with me. But once we met, it was clear that neither of us could control what was happening to us. We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created.” (Nicholas Sparks, 102). What Noah said was beyond beautiful, Noah meant every single word he said and this made Allie happy, she was head over heels with what this remarkable man had to say about their love they once had. There are three main characters, Dexter, Rachel and Darcy. After Dexter explains to Darcy that he want to cancel the wedding he goes straight over to Rachel’s house to tell her that he loves her and to explain how the wedding is off. Darcy also goes over to Rachel`s house to discuss what happened between her and Dexter. Dexter hides, when Darcy comes into Rachel`s home, and soon enough Darcy realizes that Dexter is at Rachel`s house. This turns into a argument and Darcy leaves. Rachel and Dexter start to take their relationship slow after things were not as dramatic when Darcy was out of their life. Rachel heads back to her workplace, and her boss is in a sticky situation where her and her husband are having problems, as she is talking to her boss she says, “I think to myself that when you’re in love, sometimes you have to fight to keep your pride. It’s a balance. But when the relationship is right, you find that balance.” (Emily Griffin, 307). Rachel is happy that she gets the man of her dreams.
