Change in Mean Girls effects the narrative in where the protagonist, Cady Heron, ceases to become her once-was self and transforms into a Plastic. “You’ve turned into a plastic” is a piece of dialogue directly aimed at Cady when having an argument with her best friend Janis - during the climax of the film. By using the term ‘You’ve’ Wiseman insinuates change within the protagonist and stems with the negative connotations affiliate with the label ‘Plastic’. In the novel 6 change is similarly projected by rather indirectly, Linking to the theme of relationships (which also progresses linearly) Sarah comments on Poppy’s power and also labels it; but as ‘Childish’ in “Im sick of your Childish games.”, implying that Poppy is immature and not growing up in the regard of mentality. For example, Stanley agreed that he'd give anything he finds to X-Ray, even though he knows he might get a day off for it, he still gives the chance to X-Ray without getting mad. When the Warden was watching them digging holes, it happened to be Mr. Pendanski saying something wrong to the Warden. "Stanley didn't want to cause any trouble for Mr. Pendanski." Stanley didn't know him for too long but still, he didn't want Mr. Pendanski to be blamed which showed the kindness of him. On the other hand, Stanley also made a deal with Zero; Stanley would teach Zero how to read and Zero would dig part of each hole for him. Soon in the book, we discover that Zero is the descendant of the one legged gypsy that cursed Stanley’s great great grandfather and has the ability to make things right for the Yelnats and forgive the curse. When Ruku and Kenny meet, figuratively it is the merge of two opposite cultures of tradition and science. In science they depend on their education, and it also helps them develop new ways of adapting. As in tradition they rely on their religion to help…

Change can be seen as a form of transformation or conversion. A form of change can be seen in “Victory Lap” by George Saunders, a short story written in such a way that the events that are enrolling throughout the story are being processed and told through the minds of three main characters. Having the perspective of each character allows us, the readers to get a much greater understanding about them and to make a better character analysis. Having said that, this story is simply about a girl, Alison getting kidnapped by an unnamed kidnapper. What were really captivating were the changes spotted on characters as the conflict progresses. One character in particular is very intriguing and his name is Kyle. One of our main character, Alison gives a small description on Kyle as she spots him running outside through her window, moments before the incident with the kidnapper: “He looked like a skeleton with a mullet.” (71). She further describes him as a weird and wimpy guy. With these descriptions we can easily paint a picture of how Kyle looks and boy does he sound “heroic”. It may be hard to imagine, but Kyle has changed from the beginning of the story to the end, and this change may even be described to be heroic.…

In the beginning of the novel, Stanley has a hard time accepting true friends. First, we see Stanley’s initial view on Zero. “He took his place behind magnet, in front of Zero” (Sachar 84) Here we can see how Stanley moves up the totem pole to popularity and barely acknowledges Zero. To continue, in this example of evidence we can see how little Stanley cares for Zero. “He needed to save the energy for people who counted” (Sachar 82) The other boys had put the mindset in Stanley’s mind that Zero is completely worthless. Lastly, the text states in Sachar 81 “I don’t like it when you read over my shoulder okay?” You can tell the tone Stanley is speaking in, he is obviously annoyed with Zero. Like I said before Stanley tries to please the other boys by being rude to Zero, which looks like will never change.…
