Lady Macbeth is married to Macbeth the main character in this play, making her one of the key characters in this play. Lady Macbeth is a woman who lusts for power, authority and control through her husband. She persuades Macbeth into killing Duncan so that he can become king after the incident. She characterizes one of the ongoing thematic elements of guilt throughout the play and this finally leads to her death in the end. The quote "a little water clears us of this deed" is a simple statement made by Lady Macbeth which becomes ironic as the play progresses because the metaphorical "clear water" of truth which she speaks of is never used by either her or Macbeth.…

I’m reading a book called the Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz, and it is a very good book. I saw a word that just kept coming up again and again, and that word is harpoon. The word harpoon came up so many times in three pages. I know that this is important because I know something is going to happen very shortly. I know it is going to be shortly because I'm getting to the end of the book.…

Imagine living in Salem during the 1500’s and being punished for things that are now widely accepted in our generation. The threat of punishment is what Hester and Pearl had to endure throughout the entire story. In my opinion Pearl is the most misunderstood character throughout the book. She is very intelligent but can be troublesome at times. On top of that, she is the product of sin which could only make things harder.…

"Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under it (Act 1, Scene 5, Page 3)." This quote was said by Lady Macbeth and I found it interesting because, this quote is actually being compared to Lady Macbeth instead of Macbeth. The flower is being compared to her by how she treated other people. For example, when the king came to her house/castle, she actually treated him well. Also she was being compared to the serpent because, she actually want to kill the king. So the quote is saying that Lady Macbeth is nice and kind on the outside, but evil on the inside.…

While reading The Scarlet Letter book I had a little trouble with understanding the words and how it was used back in the days because they have different meanings to it now. The Scarlet letter brought out many morals to me along with the themes that I was given to explain. If I would have to make up a theme or moral of the story, is not to lie because the more you hold in the lie the deeper the guilt grows you it will make you into a different person, it will make you become something you don't want to become it will make you turn into something terrible that honestly you would not want to become.…

In the play “The Crucible” the quote “You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor” was stated by Betty Parris. Betty was saying this to Abigail Williams in Betty’s room.
