Well, innocent people who had nothing to do with the war roamed around,went to work, and lived their everyday lives. The atomic bombing caused both of the citizens of those cities to be displaced and many lost their families. Due to the atomic bomb, and even the people who survived, faced the consequences of the radiation which the bomb had released. As quoted, “In minutes, hours and days after the bombing of Hiroshima, the survivors tried their hardest to locate their loved ones and care for those who were wounded due to the bombing, some showed horrible burns and those which appeared unwonder died from radiation poisoning. Many people were trapped under the debris of their own houses as the entire city was leveled. After the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the world saw the immense power which the United States now held and the amount of destruction the weapon was able to cause; this led to many countries becoming fearful of the United States and started to develop their own weapons. This left the president of the United States at that time with 4 options to make Japan surrender which were to (1) continue conventional bombing of Japanese cities; 2) invade Japan; 3) demonstrate the bomb on an unpopulated island; or, 4) drop the bomb on an inhabited Japanese city. They are talking about the atomic bomb which was developed in 1942 but had not been used so it was made in fear that Germany would make it first. They chose to drop a bomb on a populated city in Japan because Truman and his advisors concluded that only bombing a city would make an adequate impression. The city was chosen based on First, it had to be a city that had suffered little to no damage from conventional bombing, so it couldn’t be argued that the damage came from anything other than the atomic
