Many immigrants are already apart of the American Community and have been for so many years. We can’t really do anything about thos immigrants who are already in America and have been for a decade. During their time here, “many have started families, and have children who are granted automatic citizenship as a result of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S Constitution” (Griswald 1.) It would be cruel to deport those children’s parents, their families would be ripped apart and the children would have to fend for themselves. Americans are worried about the threats and crimes, but not by the ones whom are already living in America, but more from those who are still trying to cross the border. A 2015 study by the National Academy of Sciences concluded, “Immigrants are less likely than the native born to commit crimes, and neighborhoods with greater concentrations of immigrants have much lower rates of crime and violence than comparable non immigrant neighborhoods” (Griswald 1.) We never know what their attentions are, which is why we need to provide a pathway to citizenship. You
