Certified tumor registrars are individuals who manage records of patients who have been treated for cancer. CTR are responsible for collecting and reviewing data regarding the nature of cancer patients' illnesses and the diagnostic procedures and treatments used to deal with them. These registrars maintain the data of patients who have been diagnosed with malignant tumors as well as benign or even questionable tumor. A CTR assigns codes for diagnosing and treating various cancers, reports the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). He then keeps a patient's record updated by remaining in communication with the patient/patient's family as well as the doctors involved in the patient's care. He must record how patients are progressing in their illnesses and how long cancer patients survive. In addition, he ensures that this information is reported in a complete, accurate and timely manner.…

The decision to perform CT/CBCT imaging depends on both the initial radiographic valuation and the clinical findings. If the plain radiographs are negative, with no signs of fracture, no fluid levels, no mucosal thickening of the sinuses, and no orbital or soft tissue emphysema and there is no indication of penetrating injury, then the chance of finding a significant midface fracture on CT/CBCT evaluation. There are very high incidence of intracranial damage in such patients, and there are important questions relating to the posterior wall of the frontal sinus, the nasofrontal duct, and the orbital roof, the answers can be find by CT/CBCT imaging technique.…
Computed-tomography scan (CT) is a series of x-ray images taken from different angles, which are combined by a computer, into a representation of a slice through the body. CT scan images provide more detailed information than X-rays do. A CT scan has many uses, but is primarily used to quickly examine people who may have internal injuries from car accidents or other types of trauma. A CT scan can also be used to visualize many parts of the body and is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical or radiation treatment. A brain CT is used to evaluate various structures of the brain to look for a mass, stroke, area of bleeding, or blood vessel abnormality. It is also sometimes used to look at the skull. CT scans have…
When analyzing the community health assessment several risks and weakness are identified. There are a few risks and weakness with the current state of Oncology Services. With physicians practices already at capacity there is no room to handle the current and future demand for these services. With an aging population new cancer cases are expected to increase by 34 % in five years. Higher smoking rates also contribute to new cancer diagnosis. Another risk is the equipment to diagnose and treat cancer is not keeping up with patient volume. This could be due to antiquated equipment that takes longer to scan patients therefore delaying results and sometimes requiring additional scanning. Additionally, poorly coordination of services by the staff is a risk factor. When test are not schedule timely it could be detrimental to the patient. A timely diagnosis could be the difference between life and death. Also, at Trinity there is little emphasis on cancer prevention and control is yet another risk. Early diagnosis leads to a more positive outcome. In addition, the sporadic use of educational programs focused on healthy living is a risk factor. Once people learn better they tend to do better. Knowledge is power.…
Imagine being able to detect diseases in your body, or being able to examine various tissues and determine its conditions. That is exactly what an positron emission tomography (PET) scan is used for. Unlike CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans, the PET scan can reveal the cellular level changes occurring in an organ or tissue.…
Therefore, it must be utilized properly and have a production reputation. Technologies such as imaging devices for invasive or intensive cardiology procedures and non-invasive oncology platforms should be carefully considered to provide doctors and patients with options for treating certain medical conditions. This might require to spend more money, however, installing upgraded technologies in the hospital, it will benefit the hospital by receiving more patients to treat for their medical condition instead of sending them to a different hospital with upgraded technology and the hospital will also make more money as well, which they can use towards other necessary tools that are…
Thank you for your informative post. You stated “Health care providers, allowing illnesses to worsen, rather than taking care of the issue at the time could potentially lead to a rise in health care cost due to unnecessary doctor visits and care for further complications.” I agree with your statement. The longer health care providers allow patients to suffer without surgery can cause the patient to visit the doctor unnecessarily because of pain. The unnecessary visits could cause an increase in tax and health care for individuals not insured by Medicaid.…
Lijia, as you mentioned SNOMED CT can be utilized to improve patient outcomes. SNOMED CT supports the development of inclusive high-quality clinical content in health records. It can be used to present clinical information in a reliable, consistent and systematic way and an essential part of electronic health information. SNOMED based clinical information is beneficial for patients and clinicians as well as populations and it supports evidence based care. The benefits of SNOMED CT range from real time decision support to more accurate retrospective reporting for research and management. SNOMED CT allows early identification of evolving health issues, monitoring of population health and responses to changing clinical practice. SNOMED CT is a…

A CT angiogram is a procedure to look at the blood vessels in various areas of the body. For this procedure, a large X-ray machine, called a CT scanner, takes detailed pictures of blood vessels that have been injected with a dye (contrast material).A CT angiogram allows your health care provider to see how well blood is flowing to the area of the body that is being checked. The health care provider will be able to see if there are any problems, such as a blockage.Tell a health care provider about:Any allergies you have. All medicines you are taking, including vitamins, herbs, eye drops, creams, and over-the-counter medicines.Any problems you or family members have had with anesthetic medicines.Any blood disorders you have.Any surgeries you have had.Any medical conditions you have.Whether you are pregnant or may be pregnant.Whether you are breastfeeding.Any anxiety disorders, chronic pain, or other conditions you have that may increase your stress or prevent you from lying still. What are the risks?Generally, this is a safe procedure.…
