Kneeling is a unique and jarring form of protesting. The history of racial and economic injustice in the United States has created a continuing challenge for all Americans. During the pre-season a NFL quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers quietly protested during the Star Spangled Banner. Which made headlines during the third game of the preseason. Even with his countless interviews and public posts it just still seem to be a big divide because of it. Kneeling during the National Anthem has caused a decline in ratings and money loss in the NFL, contrary to the financial pledges that have created many opportunities for minority groups.
Difficulty in Business and Relations There has been significant loss in business revenue for all parties because of the decision to kneel during the anthem. The sponsors, players and other relations with the NFL have been hit directly. The protests in the NFL have caused a lot of difficulties for sponsors and other business with big corporations that had relations with the NFL which caused The NFL protests have hit Papa John’s Significantly because of its close relations with the league (Taylor). He became a polarizing figure among NFL fans for his decisions to sit and kneel. Sacrificing many things such as his career to do the right thing and using his salary money to do so. He wanted to do something big very impactful, so he started a million-dollar pledge. Kaepernick’s million-dollar pledge was to serve communities that were oppressed across the nation. Which he used his 2016 jersey sales and his salary with collaborative efforts to complete his pledge. Colin has donated to over 30 different charities for his pledge (Perry). These charities such as DREAM provides after-school activities, sports activities for the youth, coalition for the homeless, incarceration and help immigrants. Each of his 10 thousand dollar donations will be matched by a celebrity (Gannett). This pledge will have a long lasting impact on people from all over the world by supplying groups with money to help ensure others. As well as giving awareness to these minority groups. Donating your earned money to people and impacting people from across the nation is such a huge achievement and accomplishment. Not only is he giving back with monetary things but genuinely interacting with the people to ensure them their needs. His generous donations have given people so much hope from all different backgrounds so that they can continue their basic needs for life. That also influenced other
