By requiring the low socioeconomic to undergo testing, it could be considered discrimination against the poor bases on the assumption that they are drug users just because they don’t make that much money. That is something that may be true but they don’t have evidence to proof that all of the people from the low socioeconomic are drug user. Social welfare should be a second option for someone that doesn’t make that much money to help their families out. At the same time Social Welfare is something that is optional for the people that don’t make that much money to help them out and this new law will only make people be afraid of enter any program by the government. By making drug testing a requirement for parents who are on welfare and not receiving direct benefits, there could be a lot of children who won’t receive benefits that they may rightly deserve under the law. Many of the people that have social welfare are because they don’t want to see their children go through hunger. The people that say they are for this they should think of the many children’s that are benefiting from Social Welfare. They don’t think that if they lose everything they have they may also depend on social welfare. People should think that social welfare is something for the children’s not for the parents. Even do some may not need it and they are just taking advantage of the governments and taking the money that other people that do need it. This is something that helps each parents a little to not feel that they cannot put a plate in the table for their kids. There are many families that depend on Social Welfare. There are 17 million children’s that suffer from hunger and by making the requirement of taking a drug test may make the number go higher than what it is.
