Loyalty is a virtue with God because of the Adam and Eve story. “And the lord god commanded the man, you may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die”(Gen. 2:16-18NRSV). God clearly makes it plain and simple of what he wants. If you were loyal to do obey this task would not be a difficult, but “the serpent said to the woman, you will not die, for God knows when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil”(Gen.3:4-5). Now with that knowledge they decided to eat from tree of knowledge of good and evil. Once they did “the eyes of both were opened, and they knew they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves” (Gen.3:6-7). God replied to that by saying, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”(Gen.3:11).
