The Road Not Taken Book Summary

The book Taken is a scientific fiction for teenagers and adults to enjoy. This book takes place 19 years in the future (2035) in the Highlands, a place or town for rich families. In this time period kidnapping was considered a job because it happened so much (this didn’t mean that it was legal). The usual weather for this story is cloudy, there is not much sunlight. The main character is Charity, a brunette with braces that is the daughter of a millionaire. Her father was Mr. Meyers he had a tendency to get drunk. Mr. Meyers was married to Charity’s mother until she died, then he married Micky, soon after he divorced Micky because he realized that she was selfish but Micky still kept his last name because she runs a TV show and didn’t want to change the title. Micky has big red glasses that she uses as the shows logo. Micky also still lives with them. Other residents of their household include Victoria and Albert. Victoria and Albert work for the RDS. RDS stands for Royal Domestic Servants, which were popular in that time period. Victoria was a maid\cook and Albert was a chauffeur\butler Victoria was very kind and she was Mexican. Albert was strict. Charity liked helping Victoria but Albert didn’t approve. One Christmas day Charity’s father was at a baseball game and Charity’s ex-stepmother was of filming,
Charity had been kidnapped! One of the kidnappers “name” was Dessi. He had dark skin and was around sixteen years of age. Practically the entire time he was watching her he was complaining about how easy life was for her. Eventually she found out that Albert and her father were the kidnappers! Albert wanted money from the ransom and her father wanted to pretend that he and Charity were dead, by using a fake accident for his self, so that they could go and live a life where he can save people as Dr. Reyes and she can go to a normal school as Caridad or for short Cari.
