Decisions gone badly.
Ambition is a word that I believe can relate to anyone at some point of his or her life. The dictionary defines it, as “a strong desire to do or achieve something” (Dictionary.com) which I think doesn’t show any negative connotation or actions. However, it is ambition what has lead many people in history and throughout time to commit acts that are considered immoral or unethical with the only objective to achieve what the person desires. In literature, there are also millions of examples where ambition is present and where the characters have to suffer the consequences of their actions. I was driving to get to a restaurant with some friends, but there was a lot of traffic that day. I was becoming desperate, and I saw a street that was only way, and if I turned I would be taking it in the opposite direction it was supposed to be taken. However, I saw there was nobody around and I would drive quickly and turn back to another street to be able to skip all the traffic. My friends were all telling me to do it, and so I did. When we were getting to the end of the street a policeman appeared and stopped us. He started scolding and telling me I couldn’t do that, and that it was against the law. He was really mad and decided to give me a ticket. I was so scared of what my parents would say and felt so bad because they would have to pay for my wrong decision. In that moment my friends told me to give him some money so that he wouldn’t give me this ticket and the problem would be solved. I tried to solve the problem this way, but the policeman seemed really pissed off by my proposal and started insulting me. This also made really mad and I started insulting him even worse, and telling him that he would regret talking to me like that, and I started threatening him that I would make him lose his job. Of course, this was all a lie, because I had no way to make him lose his job or making him regret for following the law. My friends kept telling me to keep fighting and not letting him disrespect me, however, after a while I thought it was useless to keep with this discussion and in a very rude manner I decided to accept the
