The Role Of Discrimination And Racial Equality In The United States
In the U.S today we have made lots of progress with discrimination and racial equality but their is still a little discrimination and racial equality to work on. back then white people would not give respect to the african americans. and african americans did not get to do all the stuff that white people would be abel to do. now everyone was equal rights. blacks can do what ever they want and they have respect now. In 1960 black men were five times as likely as white men to be in prison. fifty years later, black man are six times as likely as white man to be in prison and hispanic men three times as likely. as the years go by the numbers rise but it stays the same for the white men. Their are people that think that some white policemen
are races because black men have been killed by white policemen for no reason and the government is trying to come up with something else than a gun for police use and not kill people.
Obama thinks that racial equality and discrimination has improved during the time that he was been the president of the U.S he says that most of the issues of discrimination and ratios equality are because of the society. Each year every generation has made an improvement to this issue. 20 years ago black people did not get to have the same privileges as the white people had.
In 1868 the fourteenth amendment countered so now no state was able to deny any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law. So now no one can get denied protection no matter what color they are what race they are what religion they believe in or what they liked.

They would not let them do something or they would talk about them or they would call that names. I think that by getting to know other people that don't have your skin color would make them change their perspective of them not just judge because of their race religion sex etc…
