THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction
Engaging people in a certain area with organization, programs and development is part of community involvement. Community service is an important responsibility of all. As a member of community, we need to know not only our obligations in our family or even not only knowing the people around us, but it is important to know our involvement that we can do towards our community. Individuals may participate in community because of an interest in lifelong learning, a sense of moral obligation, to maintain and improve professional competence, enhance career progression, keep abreast of new technology and practice, or to comply with professional regulatory organizations. The major concern of our research is to determine the community involvement and extension services of faculty members of PUPSRC and its effects in their personal and professional development. We already know that the faculty members have major involvement in handling the development of students that leads to learning. But this research explores to find the community involvement and extension services of faculty members of PUPSRC and to know if those involvement can affect their personal and professional development.
Somehow there is community involvement done by the faculty member through enhancing the student’s skills and intellectual abilities. But the challenge is, if they extend an old concept - the use of academic and professional expertise of faculty to serve their community voluntarily.
We all know that as a teacher their main goal is to teach children. The researcher wants to know the other involvement of the PUPSRC Faculty members, not being a professor but a citizen in their community and to discover
