The Seven Organizational Approaches to Studying the Human Body
The seven organizational approaches to studying the human body are body planes and body directions, body cavities, quadrants and regions, anatomy and physiology, microscopic to macroscopic, body systems and medical specializes. The body planes and body direction is the division of the body in to sections from front to back, right and left, and top and bottom. These sections are called the midsagittal plane, the coronal plane, and the transverse plane. This approach is used when studying organs and its function or specific areas with in the body like lungs, brain, and joint and tendons. The body cavity is the study of the body cavities and the organs in the cavities. This approach is used when studying certain organs in the body and how a disease affects different organs. The quadrants and regions divides the lower torso into four sections and nine region sections to identify the areas where internal organs are placed. This approach is a good reference to be used when conducting a physical exam of internal organs. The anatomy and physiology is the study of the structures with in the body and how they function in the body. This approach is good to be used when studying the structure and how cell work or the nervous system. Microscopic and macroscopic is the study of the smallest parts of the body and how they come together to make larger parts and more complex structures or systems. This approach is good to use when studying how cells combine to make organ. The Body systems approach is the study of the body’s organs and how they function together in the body. This approach is good to be used when studying the bodies systems such as the circulatory system, the respiratory system and how they function in the body. Medical specialty is the study of the human body for medical uses. This approach is also divided in to many different categories which are the use or study of anatomy, physiology diseases, diagnostic tests, medical and surgical procedures, and drugs. This

The human body can be researched, analyzed, and studied in seven ways. Each way offers humans a better understanding of how the body works when in both states of health and disease. The first way to organize the contents of the human body is by body planes and body directions. “A plane is an imaginary flat surface that divides the body into two parts” (Turley, 2011). There are three planes in which to choose from. The first is coronal (frontal) plane. This plane will show a flat picture of the body as if it were cut in half from front to back. The second is the sagittal plane. This will show a flat picture of the body as if it were cut in half from left to right. The third is the transverse plane. This will show the body as if it were cut in the middle into two sections known as the superior and inferior sections. To move towards the head means to move in the cephalad direction and to move towards the tail bone means to move in the caudad direction. There are other terms that describe similar movements. These include: distal (moving down the arm or leg) and proximal (moving up the arm or leg) direction. To move in a medial direction means to move towards the center of the body and to move in a lateral direction means to move away from the center of the body. To move in an anteroposterior direction means moving from the outside of the body from the anterior and to move in an posteroanterior direction means moving from the outside of the body from the posterior side. MRI’s and X-rays use body planes to photograph the inside of the human body by “use[ing] magnetic energy and radio waves to create cross-sectional images or ‘slices’ of the human body” (Imaginis Corp., 1997-2012). This gives health care providers the ability to see inside the body without having to operate.…

The human body is an anatomical position that divides the body into planes. Three main planes are frontal, sagittal, and transverse planes. These planes divide the body into front, back, right, left, and top and bottom. Anatomical terms are like reading directions on a compass, these terms are useful studying the anatomy it provides a line of communication to avoid confusion when identifying structures. Body planes are used to specify sections or regions of the body. This approach is common when studying particular organs and its surrounding functions.…

Body plane, directions, cavities, body systems and medical specialties, anatomy and physiology, microscopic to macroscopic, and quadrants and regions are the seven organizational approaches to studying the human body. They all are used in the human body but are use in different ways. Body planes and body directions is the separation of the body into portion from right and left, top and bottom, and front to back. The frontal plane, mid-sagittal plane, and the horizontal plane are the portions. This approach is used when analyzing body part and the capacity or particular fields within the body like lungs and brain. The body cavity study body parts in the decayed area and body cavities itself. There are two main cavities; a posterior cavity, which is toward the backside of the body and contains the cranial cavity, and spinal cavity and an anterior cavity, which is toward the front side of the body and is divided into the pectoral cavity and abdominal pelvic cavity. The approach being used is to study a specifically known organ in the human being and in what way disease can influence dissimilar tissues. Anatomy and physiology analyze the makeups within the physique and in what way the capacity works in the tissue. The approach works with analyzing the makeup of the body and how the nervous system work. Also good for explaining to patient how their body part works. Quadrants are another way our bodies are separate into regions for both diagnostic and descriptive purposes. Body regions are used to explain areas of the body that obtain a distinctive capacity or provide by specific blood flow pathway or nerves. When conducting a physical exam within organs, it is a good reference on this approach. Studying of the tiniest piece of the human body is called microscopic and macroscopic approach. The approach for these two is studying cells: A cell is the smallest independently functioning structure in the body that can reproduce itself by division. “Most cells and cellular…

I have always had a great interest in science and from a young age I knew that my future profession would be in medical care. More recently I have developed an interest in the area of radiography due to the combination of scientific, technical and the extensive interpersonal skills which are all needed to become a successful radiographer. I am currently studying applied sciences at college and this course has provided me with an insight into the fundamentals of science. The unit that I have found particularly fascinating is the Physiology of the Human Body System. I was interested in how each specific area plays a distinct role in the body and how certain body parts are interlinked with each other - a typical example of this being the skeletal system.…
