The Spiders Depicted In 'The Hobbit'

In The Hobbit, there are many different creatures, and many of the characters´ encounters involve some of those creatures. The most interesting part of the book involved one type of creature that is called a spider. The spiders in The Hobbit are not like most spiders. These spiders are much larger and do not use regular insects as a food source. Mr. Baggins and his other travelers encountered these spiders in the Mirkwood Forest. They would not have ended up in this predicament if Gandalf had stayed with the group of adventurers till the very end of their journey. Though, it was partly their fault, for they attracted the attention of the spiders with the running towards the wood-elves fires. It was inevitable, considering they had run out of food and water, so they had been starving for multiple days. The wood-elves’ fires would have food and drinks, and so they kept trying to sneak into the circle around the fires to steal something
Now, the spiders did not trap everyone. They didn’t trap Thorin, for he was somewhere else. Mr. Bilbo Baggins was also not caught. Mr. Baggins had almost been caught, but he had his sword (more like a dagger on normal folk) and he used it against the spider that was wrapping him in the sticky thread. Since Mr. Baggins was not caught with the sticky thread, he followed the spiders back to where they were keeping the others. As he was following the spiders, he had put on the ring that gave him invisibility so they would not catch him. When the spiders arrived at their nest, they started talking about eating the other dwarves. He had to save his companions before the spiders ate them, so he distracted the spiders and made them walk away from their nest. While the spiders were away, Mr. Baggins ran back to the spider’s nest and cut the dwarves loose from the sticky thread they were wrapped
