Fast forwarding to 2016. My father is a skinny old man who works under the blazing sun, drenched in sweat and always stressed as it is
the only way to support our family. Despite the decent pay, my Father is not fulfilled by his job. I often hear his long sighs of resignation; since he missed the chance of making a good use of high school education. He now nags on me, to constantly remind me to work hard in school so I won’t follow his paths of regrets in the future.
Knowing that my parents aren’t happy with their current life and the awareness of the struggles they went through raising me, has driven me throughout my high school career. The constant nags and lectures were a reminder to pursue my education for a better future. I became motivated and challenged myself to take harder courses with the goal of getting AB honor roll. I have taken the preparations for college very seriously as I am part of the first generation to go. Going to a four year of college would not only benefit me, but my family as well. I believe George Mason provides a great opportunity for me to major in criminology with the interest of becoming a special agent at NCIS. As one of the few universities that provide Air Force ROTC, Mason will allow me to pursue my interest in enlisting into the military. I see a bright future ahead of me at George Mason University.
