Neolin criticizes that the Indians have become so dependent on the white men when they are capable of helping themselves. “My children, you have forgotten the customs and traditions of your forefathers.” (Foner 169). He questions why they have allowed the white men to take over their life and the way that they live. “Why do you suffer the white man to dwell among you?” (Foner 169). Because of the Seven Years’ War the Indians were able to unite and work together instead of working against each other in the rebellion, “…the mixing of Indian warriors in French armies had helped to inspire this sense of identity as Indians rather than members of individual tribes.” (Foner 167).
