Globalization is increasing as well and with that occurring, businesses can advertise what they want using the internet. Whether it is through Television, a blog or Instagram, it is spreading out what they believe is important information. People view this as a way of spreading American cultures, which they believe is going to lead to homogeneity. (Source 4) This is a state of being the same, so people thought that globalization was going to rule out all other cultures and traditions the same as Television. This affects cosmopolitanism because globalization can spread information worldwide quickly, manipulating people’s perceptions with American cultures. Now, you’re probably wondering what businesses have to do with internet spreading American cultures. Well, in order for a business to be successful, their products must sell suitably, so they advertise through magazines, commercials, and billboards. For example, Google, Apple Inc., and Ford Motor Company are all very large business that are used to scatter information of American cultures. Those businesses like Apple and Google use the internet to be able to disperse information about pretty much anything. Back in the days, the world was being pressured to imitate the “American ways” so people began blaming America for that because globalization pretty much was America, or at least that’s what people thought. Currently, businesses such as Disney, McDonald's, Coke or Pepsi are spreading American cultures without even realizing it.
