With the internet citizens had the chance to change the old technology into new and advancing their everyday lives. For example, due to the interest in technology rising, the interest in farming decreased. Therefore, physical labor is not as important as white collar jobs. This became a downside to many citizens living in urban areas because they began losing jobs and people to technology and infrastructure. However, many people were offered more jobs in cities due to the growth of businesses. The U.S. economy went from not needing technology to earn living to depending on it massively. Today, in order to get a low-level job either at Walmart, or McDonald's you need to have access and understanding of technology because they only accept applications online. Even in non-technology firms, big corporations, and small businesses in urban and rural settings Internet use is necessary. At the same time education is being changed also due to technology.
