Odysseus showed many god-like qualities, and one of them was intelligence. He showed his courage when he was able to escape Calypso. She had held him captive for years and wouldn't let him leave. He desperately wanted to get back to his wife, Penelope, but he wanted to leave Calypso on good terms. Calypso didn’t want him to leave because she would be alone forever, but she finally let him go. Odysseus was courageous by leaving Calypso to get back to his wife, Penelope.
Odysseus was a very faithful man too. He showed his faithfulness by not loving Calypso at all, but emotionally loving Penelope. He did remain faithful to her throughout the entirety of his time being cursed by Poseidon to roam the sea. Odysseus was also brave. His bravery showed when he fought in the Trojan War. It was also his idea of giving the gift of the Trojan Horse which ultimately wins the war for the Greeks.
Odysseus was an all-around great guy. He was strong, fearless, constant, and very smart. He fought for his people and loved his country dearly. Odysseus would be considered a hero in the modern world today. Although he did lie, and had a difficulty with honor, so do our modern day heroes
