The theme of love connection between people is a very important part of life. I choose this theme as it is a very relevant and relatable subject for many people in our society. The four texts I chose were: the fictional novel ‘Delirium’, by Lauren Oliver, the song ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift, song ‘Same Love’ by Macklemore and fictional novel ‘Girl Online’, by Zoe Sugg. There was a strong connection of love between two people in these texts.
The first text that I looked at that showed the connection of love was Delirium. This novel discusses the connection of love. Love is the main theme of this novel. This young adult novel discusses the connection of love. This story is about a teenager who meets a boy, who she falls in love with, while on holiday in New York. She then finds out that this boy was quite a well-known singer who supposedly has a ‘girlfriend’. This then leads to the whole internet finding out about their relationship which causes a lot of trouble. But in the end everything is resolved and it has a happy ending. When the two of them first meet they get along very well and fall in love very quickly and everything is running smoothly. A quote from the text to show that everything is going well at the beginning of the book is ‘I’ve met a boy. A boy that I really like. And I think he really likes me!’ In the middle of the book things start to get complicated. This book shows many sides to love, how everything can be so good and then how easily things can go wrong. I think that this book is very relatable to many teenage girl in society today, which makes it such a good
