Therapeutic Goals Of Integrative Therapy
The therapeutic goals I have as an Integrative therapist is to maximize my client's mental, physical and emotional health by the use of 2 or more therapies dependent on the clients need at certain points in therapy. For example: For someone who needs help with relationship issues I can use a psychodynamic approach and to help aid desired behaviors, cognitive behavior approach would work. Overall, I will tailor to each client specific needs. The function and role I have as an Integrative therapist are to first establish a supportive relationship with my client by being cooperative and engaging in supported listening. I will need to create a nonjudgmental environment so that the client can feel comfortable in opening up to me. If I were to adopt
an Integrative Approach limitations are individuals who do not have the commitment to want to explore and are willing to open up to find what is causing their concerns for seeking therapy.
