When you step into the bathroom, the morning news pops up on a video screen, and the shower turns on automatically.” There is also a health monitoring system within the house. For instance a mattress that could flag health problems early. This would involve an inexpensive strip that would go under your mattress pad and monitor your heart. As stated by Dr. Felder, “‘ By measuring your breathing and pulse all night long, we can test for sleep apnea,’ usually something that can be done only in a sleep laboratory, he says. ‘ The measurements aren’t as good, but they can indicate problems and lead to an earlier trip to the doctor.’” To add on to all of this helpful technology, there are wathcing walls being developed. This could potentially help families keep an eye on the elders in their family without being there.
