There S No Plae Like Home Essay
'There's no place like home'

Each one of us has a place which brings back memories, a place where we create new memories, a place which is a symbol of comfort and wellness. This place is what we call home.

Home: it's not just a place to lay your head; no it's more than that. It is also a place that you are always welcomed, a place where you know you are safe, and can hide from the outside world. Home is a place where you can always turn to and there will be open doors awaiting you. It is a place where a person should feel relaxed and comfortable, where they can just kick off their shows and fall onto the couch after a long day of work, also a place of refuge.
The Oxford Dictionary defines a home as ‘place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.’ But I define it as a place where I can feel comfortable, safe, loved, no matter what the situation or the location. I see my home as a getaway, another world and in this magical place my worries disappear.

For example, coming home from a bad day at work, a woman puts her key in the door and walks inside. Upon setting her bags on the marble kitchen counter and picking up the remote to watch her favourite show, her troubles leave her. She becomes involved with the comical story of ‘My wife and kids’, and not with her boss's booming voice telling her how she filed his documents in the wrong place. She feels at ease, knowing that she can catch her breath for at least longer than 20mins, 2 a day at tea time within the 10 hours of her shift, each day from Monday to Saturday.
Our home is kept in our memories as an ideal place, even if it not perfect. Our homes combine different concepts. It represents our culture, religion, family, personal belongings, friends, environment, our cuisine...Our home is what represents us, as an individual.
We were brought in these homes, even if you are one who has moved countless times, but in each of those homes where u have lived and are living in

Home is simply a place where someone finds a permanent residence with friends or family. Nowhere in this definition does it say home is our motherland. When one thinks about it, almost everyone is not living in his or her motherland, and this is due to globalization. The curiosity of finding ways to make the world more connected across continents contributed to the advancements made in human history. Every culture focuses on different aspects of life, so when a group of people with diverse views work together, an explosion of benefits is trickled down to every community and the world, but if the opportunity of having this master teamwork is denied, how will we even have the chance to amend relationships and start over?…

Each person has different ideas on where and what "home" is. Some may say home is where the heart is, others may think home is where one has a solid foundation of memories. In the essay "I Must Be Going" by Richard Ford, he explains how moving is one of Americans anxieties, yet does is so often; Ford feels home is wherever he makes it. In the essay "Homeplace" by Scott Russell Sanders, he gives the idea that settling down and making part of this earth a part of you and working hard will lead to a feeling of "at-homeness." The two essays are different in believing where home is, yet "home" in both essays contain certain love that gives us the idea that even the most opposite types of people have something in common.…

Home is a place where most experience ultimate comfort, security, and emotional ties. As reading Joan Didion’s “On Going Home” you can feel the tone and passion she has towards home, especially proven when she states, “Days pass. I see no one. I come to dread my husband’s evening call, not only because he is full of news of what by now seems to me our remote life in Los Angeles, people he has seen, letters which require attention, but because he ask what I have been doing, suggests uneasily that I get out and drive away, instead I drive across the river to a family graveyard.”(141) She’s completely content on being satisfied by home with its simple ways and family surroundings. That’s why going home to Joan is the ultimate comfort, security, and emotional relief; because she’s with family.…

Home isn’t always a place you go every day, where you eat and sleep, it’s somewhere that feels good no matter what, it feels like when you go there nothing bad can happen. For me the PAC Cheerleading gym is my home. Since the day I joined just being there has felt amazing. I joined the gym in 2010 when I was a freshman in high school. I was very shy and did not talk much, especially at school, but when I was at the gym I turned into a new person. I started to really come out of my shell and was more confident, I had always enjoyed cheerleading practice but as time went on my passion increased.…

I agree and believe with all my heart and soul in this quote by Benjamin Franklin. A house becomes a home as you live in it and begin to add your own personal touch. It becomes a home when you begin making memories and add life to it. Although a home is not always a safe haven for people, this reminds us that life without a safe and nurturing home can have crucial ramifications for health and well-being. A home should be a place where your family and loved ones can help you make sense of life when life becomes chaotic and complicated. A place where you know your troubles are swept away. “A home is where the heart is!”…
