The calculations of the PMV (predicted mean vote) and PPD (predicted percent of dissatisfied people) were done by using the CBE Thermal Comfort Tool of the University of California Berkeley that has been proposed based on ASHRAE Standard 55-2013 (Tyler, et al., 2017). The result obtained after calculating PMV index for (H1) is varies between 1.63 to 2.1with the mean value of 1.99, and the 80% satisfaction falls within the range of [-1.99< PMV< +1.99]. By equating to ASHRAE thermal sensation scale (-3 cold,-2 cool,-1 slightly cool, 0 neutral, +1 slightly warm, +2 warm, +3 hot), the result shows that the house (H1) is observed to be in the range of warm category and PPD varied from 58 % to 81 %, with the mean value of 76 %. This indicates that 76% of the occupants in this survey building were expected to be dissatisfied (discomfort) with the thermal environment. The satisfaction of (H2) falls within the range of [-1.68< PMV< +1.68]. It is observed to be in the range of warm category and PPD varied from 31 % to 73 %, with the mean value of 60.43 %. This indicates that 60.43 % of the occupants in this …show more content…
The thermal neutrality is the temperature averaged for a large sample of people when the individuals feel neither cold nor hot. The thermal neutrality is influenced by the climate, which the individuals are used to (a result of physiological acclimatization and habits) and correlates with the outdoor mean temperature (Tm). As the coldest month is January and the warmest month is August. We found the monthly mean minimum (Tmin), and mean maximum (Tmax) temperatures as following according to the recommended working method of Auliciems & Szokolay (Auliciems & Szokolay,
